You'll need to generate this yourself unfortunately, there is no built in property.  Subscribe to the keydown event on the parent control and listen for the enter key to be hit, then execute your event.

WPF XAML apps have had an [`IsDefault`](http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/system.windows.controls.button.isdefault.aspx) property for buttons so the `Enter` key will click a particular button by default.  How can we do this in a Windows Run Time application?

You can apply a margin to an item within the ListViewItem itself like below, which will stop the cut off.  Alternatively you could use a ContentTemplate as the second example.

Example 1:

In a `Xaml/C#` `WinRT` application, whenever a `ListViewItem` is selected, the first letter on the left gets chopped off.  How can I prevent this?

Make sure you derive your class from ContentControl and not just Control.  This should resolve this for you.  The default "Templated Control" item template is pretty generic to handle any case that folks might want, so if you want something more (in this case a Content control), just change to derive from ContentControl.

This a pretty basic question that I can't find a simple answer to anywhere online.  In a Windows Store xaml/c# app, if I create a New `Templated Control` named `CustomControl1.cs`.  

Here's the default template as defined in the Generic.xaml file:

I should be able to specify where child content lives by setting the Content property on the `Border` element above in either of the two following ways.

Specify content as **Attribute**

Specify content as **Element**

        <ContentPresenter ContentTemplate="{TemplateBinding ContentTemplate}"
                          Content="{TemplateBinding Content}" />
    </Border>

But in either event, whenever I use the new control elsewhere, I'm unable to set the content property

Using this:

Gives off the two following errors:

>Cannot add content to an object of type "CustomControl1"  
>The type 'CustomControl1' does not support direct content.

Well this is silly, but it [looks like][SO] the `VisualStateManager.VisualStateGroups` needs to be inside of the Page's child element, which in this case is `Grid`.  I'll accept any other answer that can explain why that is.

I'm trying to add some screen size breakpoints to a Xaml/VB app in Windows 8.1.  I'm handling the SizeChanged event in the codebehind for my main view, and calling `VisualStateManager.GoToState` which should propagate to the predefined Visual States that are sitting in my .xaml file.  Here's the entire bit of code for a tiny example that should change the background color on a small screen, but doesn't.

**MainView.xaml**:

VisualStateManager in XAML won't update with new State

There used to be really great designer support for Windows 8.0 apps in Visual Studio 2012.  In the [Device Panel][Device Panel], you could move to different `VisualStates` within the `VisualStateManager.VisualStateGroups` on your page and it would update the appropriate properties at design time. 

In 8.1, the `VisualState`s are [no longer based on specific snapped layouts][responsive], but you can still use the `VisualStateManager` and update based on the screen `width`.

*Q*: How can I get these changes to update at design time?
