**NOT mySQL**, but for other people finding this question and using SQL, another way to resolve the [tag:greatest-n-per-group] problem is using [`Cross Apply`][cross apply] in MS SQL

I have this table for documents (simplified version here):


| id   | rev   | content                              |
|------|-------|--------------------------------------|
| 1    | 1     | ...                                  |
| 2    | 1     | ...                                  |
| 1    | 2     | ...                                  |
| 1    | 3     | ...                                  |


How do I select one row per id and only the greatest rev?  
With the above data, the result should contain two rows: `[1, 3, ...]` and `[2, 1, ..]`. I'm using ***MySQL***.

Currently I use checks in the `while` loop to detect and over-write old revs from the resultset. But is this the only method to achieve the result? Isn't there a **SQL** solution?

Here I'm just logging them, but at the point you're handling each one you can do whatever modifications you need to do to submit it to the server. Preferably over an ajax request.

I have too many ckeditors on one page, which I've been told is the wrong way to go. So, I found this stackflow example of [**Bootstrap Tab Panels**][2] and it would allow me to reduce the number of ckeditors because I'm thinking I could turn the space under each named tab into an editable space.

The name values in the Tab panes inside the div are the ones I need to capture and send to the mySQL database when I click the Submit button. I can get the Nab tabs named values from input type text fields, but the Tab pane named variables need a ckeditor.

Kyle has created a demo for this at [http://jsfiddle.net/KyleMit/E6Tm4/5/][5] which works fine, but it isn't what I need because I need to capture all of the named value data when I click the Submit button at the bottom of the web page, which then sends all the data to the mySQL database and subsequently loads the profile web page containing the submitted data from the edit profile web page. Any help would be greatly appreciate on how this can be done.

Accessing Tab Data inside CK Editor

If you want an action on one page to affect another you **must** persist that information somewhere, and then access that information when you're building the new page.  

How you implement that depends on your technology stack and your use case and tons of other factors. Learning about each of those implementations are their own specific questions in and of themselves, but here are you two basic options:

1. **Server** - When someone clicks on an item - send an [AJAX message][1] back to the server.  Save that value either in your application session within the web app or in your database.  When a client requests the second page, check if there are any values to load in.
2. **Client** - Persist on the client with [localStorage or sessionStorage][2].  Then when the new page loads, load that information as well.

I get some values from a database query (mysql). These values become saved into an array. With foreach I can display each row from the mysql table which complies the term. Now my question is how can I display specific value pairs on another page when the user click the list item?

e.g.

In this case on another page should be displayed "Noob" and "Hi I am...".
This should work for every list item. I search the web for any days but doesnt found something helpful.

Asking and answering because googling this turns up very little and it's a non-obvious solution and affecting a major release.

If Visual Studio 2017 is installed, it'll come with the 2017 C++ Redistributable, but there's a bug which prevents the installation of previous versions.  So, per [this thread][1] you must:

1. Uninstall the Visual C++ Redistributable **2017**
2. Install the [Visual C++ Redistributable **2015**][3]
3. Install MySql
4. Re-install the [Visual C++ Redistributable **2017**][2]

It can sometimes be hard to locate the Redistributable from "Add or Remove Programs".  If that's the case, you can find in `C:/ProgramData/Package Cache`:



    $ find "C:/ProgramData/Package Cache" -name "VC_redist.*.exe"

Then call `/uninstall` on both locations:



    "C:/ProgramData/Package Cache/{427ada59-85e7-4bc8-b8d5-ebf59db60423}/VC_redist.x64.exe" /uninstall

When installing [MySql 8.0 Installer for Windows][1], I get the following error:

> This application requires Visual Studio 2015 x64 Redistributable.  
Please install the Redistributable then run this installer again.

The error message seems to actually refer to the Visual **C++** Redistributable per the [install prerequisites][3].  When I download the [Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2015][2], I get this error:

> VS 2015 C++ Redistributable Cannot install a product when a newer version is installed


How can I fix this?
