The GitHub API documentation says that the url

https://api.github.com/users

will give all users in the order they signed up, but I only seem to get the first 135.

Any ideas how to get the real full list?

If you want to *slightly cleanup* the output, you can remap with [**jq**][2]

```bash
gh repo list <Your_Name> --json nameWithOwner,defaultBranchRef \
  --jq ".[] | { nameWithOwner , defaultBranch: .defaultBranchRef.name}"
```

The advantage to this approach being auth is integrated and much easier to manage

My goal is to get the tree for the latest SHA in the default branch

    GET /repos/:owner/:repo/git/trees/:sha

I know that I can call

    GET /repos/:owner/:repo/branches/:branch

But I can't just use "master" for the branch as not all repos use master as the default branch.

no, not through a direct link.

"Loading" a folder from a git repo only means **[sparse checkout][1]** (partial clone).

Any other solution would indeed mean building an artifact and upload it.

I have a repository that has several folders of code. I'd like to be able to provide a link to the code in a single folder so another user could download just the relevant bits of code without being bloated by the rest of the codebase and without requiring that they have git installed on their machine.  

Of course, they can browse the code files inside of the folder online, but that isn't very helpful if they want to run a single project.

## Github CLI

This is now pretty easy to do via the GH CLI which takes care of all the auth stuff for you after you login.

```
gh repo list <username> --private
```

## Manual

You'll need to [create a personal access token][0], and then you can filter with `type=private`

**Unless you have more than 100 repos, you can just do this**:

```
https://api.github.com/orgs/<org>/repos?per_page=100&type=private&access_token=<token>
```

### For more than 100 Repos

If you need to traverse more than 100 repos, you'll have to use some additional scripting.  

Here's a sample in vanilla JS you can paste into your browser console

I want to get a list of all private repositories in our organisation github.  I tried - 

    curl -u user:pw -X GET  https://api.github.com/orgs/xxx/repos?per_page=100 >> list.txt 

I figure out that the **per_page**  MAX value is 100 , how can I get all our repos into one file ?
